Elena Lashmanova became the Russian champion in race walking 50 km with a new phenomenal world record Share this article

The olympic champion in walking 20 km of London 2012 Elena Lashmanova won the gold medal of the Russian championship for a distance of 50 km in a new phenomenal world record: 3 h 50' 42". 

She improved with this exceptional performance the previous record of the Chinese Liu Hong with more then 8 minutes.
Lashmanova is with this the second woman who covered the distance under the four-hour barrier. 

Due to the absence of international race walking referees at the competition in Voronovo (Moscow region), this record shall not be homologated.

The world record in race walking 50 km for women is at present at name of  the Chinese Liu Hong with a time of 3 h 59' 15".
