Iconic finish

In the final of the 50 km Race walk at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo, Andrey Perlov and Aleksandr Potashov, who were leading the race, crossed the finish line at the same time with their hands crossed over each other's shoulders, as winners.  
Based on the finish photo, Potashov was declared the winner, while Perlov took the silver.

My top three unforgettable memories in my career are in descending order:

♦ My victory in the 50 km at the Olympic Games in Barcelona (Spain) 1992, awarded with the prestigious title of << Olympic champion >>

♦ My silver medal at the Tokyo's 1991 World Championships in the men's 50 km Race walk, awarded by a photo finish after my iconic dual finish with my compatriot Potashov in the same time: 3h 53' 09"

♦ My victory in the 50 km at the European Athletics Championships in Split 1990, crowned with the title of << European champion >>
